Antique Red Jasper Bead Necklace with Japanese Carved Bone Pendant – 14k Gold Framed, Early 20th Century
This one-of-a-kind necklace is a stunning blend of heritage, artistry, and global craftsmanship. The richly hued beads—made of red jasper, a stone visually similar to agate—originate from the owner’s great-grandmother and are believed to date back to the early 20th century.
Decades later, during a visit to Hong Kong, the owner presented the beads to a young jeweler newly returned from design studies in Paris. Inspired by their natural beauty, she created an exquisite pairing by adding a meticulously hand-carved Japanese bone figure pendant.
The pendant, framed in 14k gold, is an exceptional and valuable piece of traditional Japanese carving—highly collectible and increasingly rare. Together, the antique beads and carved figure form a necklace that is not only visually striking but also deeply meaningful, reflecting four generations of family history.
Our team took the item to Lucas Cerroblanco Jewelry and the owner gave us an estimated valuation of $4,000 - $5,000 USD due to the piece being a "unique and special piece".
